Turbo Arcade can be played with a joystick, paddle controller or a driving controller.  Players can choose between AUTOMATIC or MANUAL shift (left difficulty switch).

When playing with a paddle or driving controller with MANUAL shifting, the single button is used to accelerate so another option is needed to shift between LOW and HIGH gear.  

Turbo Arcade supports multiple controller configurations including using a 2nd joystick controller to shift.  To help with this configuration, we have partnered with 8-bit Widgets who has created a custom Turbo Coupler that can hold a paddle or driving controller along with a joystick.
